Our

Background

Haven for Humanity Uganda (HHU) is a community-based, nonprofit organization rooted in compassion and committed to transforming the lives of vulnerable children, youth, women, and families in the slums and rural communities of Gulu and Zombo districts.

 

Since our inception in 2021, HHU has embraced a holistic, participatory approach to development; one that integrates health, education, economic empowerment, psychosocial support, and sustainable agriculture.

 

Our work is driven by the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, thrive in their community, and shape a better future.

About Our

Community Impact

Since 2021, HHU has impacted over 8,105 individuals across northern Uganda. Through grassroots engagement and cross-sector partnerships, we’ve empowered communities to thrive.

540 women supported with microloans and training to launch small businesses.

150 elderly citizens received monthly food support for three months.

20 Village Savings Groups established to build local financial resilience.

20 homes renovated for the most vulnerable families.

42 medical outreaches conducted, reaching 6,300+ individuals.

206 referrals made for specialized medical and legal support.

40 community spiritual leaders trained in mentorship and family wellness.

589 children treated for malnutrition with support from LOI.

240 children received sustained nutritional support through food supplements.
